our producer: Finca Fatima
This coffee comes from 928 smallholder farmers in the Central Aceh Regency of Sumatra, organized around PT. Ihtiyeri Keti Ara (PT. IKA). Tradition runs deep here, producers from the Gayonese ethnic group cultivate coffee on small family plots averaging under 3 acres. Nearly 70 percent of these farmers are women, many of whom depend on coffee as their primary source of income and independence. Their dedication preserves a generational legacy of wet-hulled coffee and the community traditions that define Gayo culture.
coffee that cares
When we source from PT. IKA, we’re investing in more than flavour. we’re supporting a community where women drive the craft. This partnership helps ensure stable income, access to resources, and recognition for the women whose skill sustains the region’s coffee identity.
By paying fairly for small, quality-focused lots like this one, we help strengthen gender equity and economic resilience in rural Aceh. proving that empowerment and exceptional coffee can (and should) go hand in hand.
